Kent Knaebel

Founder & President at Adsorption Research

Dr. Kent Knaebel is the founder and president of ARI and has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the firm. Considered one of the world’s foremost adsorption experts, served as editor-in-chief of the journal, Adsorption, for its first 16 volumes, and is a founder of the International Adsorption Society. He co-authored the textbook, Pressure Swing Adsorption, as well as the mass transfer chapter in the 7th, 8th, and 9th editions of Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook. Dr. Knaebel holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware. He taught at Ohio State University for twelve years in the chemical engineering department. Prior to his teaching career he worked for Eastman Chemical Co. He is a Professional Engineer, registered in Ohio. Dr. Knaebel has been awarded 16 US patents.
