Melissa Acuna

Melissa Acuna has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Melissa has held various leadership roles in different organizations. Melissa'smost recent role was as the Chief Product Officer at American Diesel Training Centers, starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they were the Vice President, General Manager of XanEdu Higher Education at XanEdu, Inc. from February 2023 to March 2023. Melissa also held the position of Vice President at XanEdu, Inc. from July 2021 to February 2023.

Before joining XanEdu, Melissa worked at Scholarus Learning where they served as the Vice President of Product Development from September 2022 to February 2023. Melissa also held the role of Vice President in the same company from August 2022 to February 2023.

Melissa has also worked as a Consultant in their own business from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they were a Principal Consultant at TiER1 Performance Solutions from April 2017 to September 2018. In 2016, they worked as a Consultant in another self-employed capacity.

During their tenure at Cengage Learning, Melissa held several Vice President positions, including Vice President, MindTap Product from March 2013 to June 2015; Vice President, Learning Design from August 2012 to March 2013; Executive Director, Media Development from December 2010 to August 2012; and Editor in Chief from January 2003 to January 2011.

Before joining Cengage Learning, Melissa worked as the Vice President, Editorial Director at Thomson Custom Solutions from 1998 to 2001. Melissa also had a role as a Senior Editor at Pearson Education from 1993 to 1997 and an Editor at Addison Wesley from 1990 to 1993.

Melissa Acuna obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in English and Education from Ashland University between 1981 and 1985. Additionally, in December 2023, they received a certification as an Adaptive Learning Engineer from Area9 Lyceum.
