Anita Nosratieh, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning over different industries and roles. Starting in 2002, they worked as a tutor at Cuesta College, providing math and physics tutoring for students of all levels. Anita also served as the exclusive tutor for a blind student. In 2003, they worked as a Course Content Developer at YourOtherTeacher.com.
In 2005, Anita interned at Select University Technologies, Inc., where they reviewed intellectual property and conducted market research for potential startup concepts. Anita then moved on to serve as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC San Diego, where they focused on research related to physiological monitoring and functional magnetic resonance imaging.
Continuing their research work, Anita worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC Irvine from 2005 to 2007, participating in the development of a diagnostic tool for chronic myelogenous leukemia.
In 2008, they joined UC Davis as a Graduate Researcher, conducting independent research projects and collaborating with radiologists on imaging studies. Anita also served as a Mentor for the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program and as a Teaching Assistant for various engineering courses.
Anita's career then took their to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where they held two roles. From 2014 to 2017, they served as a Lead Reviewer, analyzing and evaluating the safety and effectiveness of medical imaging and diagnostic devices. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Senior Advisor for Innovation, engaging with various stakeholders to accelerate patient access to innovative medical devices.
Moving into the private sector, Anita joined Navigant in 2018 as a Managing Consultant in Life Sciences Regulatory & Compliance. In this role, they provided recommendations and guidance throughout the product life-cycle and managed teams to meet client needs.
In 2019, they joined FasterCures, a Center of the Milken Institute, as an Associate Director. There, they led a project focused on elevating the patient voice and generating momentum around the development of comprehensive solutions for cell and gene therapies.
Most recently, Anita has been working at AdvaMed since 2020. Anita initially served as an Associate Vice President, Technology & Regulatory Affairs, and has now taken on the role of Vice President in the same domain. Anita represents the medical device industry's positions, engages with FDA and other stakeholders, and provides expertise and assistance on technical, regulatory, and scientific issues related to medical devices.
Anita Nosratieh, PhD, received their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from California State University, Fullerton, from 2003 to 2007. Anita continued their studies at the University of California, Davis, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from 2007 to 2014. Additionally, they have certifications in AAMI Process Validation Requirements and Industry Practice, as well as AAMI Quality System Requirements and Industry Practice, both obtained in 2015 from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
