Mileidys Perez Alea

Mileidys Perez Alea has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Mileidys currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer at Advanced BioDesign, starting in 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research as a Principal Investigator in the Oncology and Pathology Group and Biomedical Research in Melanoma Group, starting in 2012. Mileidys also held the role of Staff Research Associate at Aston University from 2010 to 2012. Before that, they worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at COVALAB in France from 2008 to 2010. Mileidys gained experience as a Visiting Research Fellow at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 2007 to 2008 and as a PhD Student at Università degli Studi di Palermo from 2003 to 2007. Mileidys began their career as a Junior Researcher at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from 2000 to 2003.

Mileidys Perez Alea completed their education in a chronological order. From 1996 to 2000, they attended the University of Havana, where they obtained a degree in Biochemistry, which is homologated to the official Spanish degree of Biochemistry. Following this, they pursued further studies at the Università degli Studi di Palermo from 2003 to 2008, achieving a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Experimental Haematology and Oncology. Additionally, in 2007 and 2008, they attended the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where they obtained a Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA) in Cellular and Molecular Biology.
