Ying Liu

Ying Liu, PhD, is a seasoned expert in computer vision and machine learning, currently serving as a Computer Vision & Machine Learning Research Engineer at AMD since December 2018. Previously, Ying held positions at Rianta Solutions Inc. as a Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on deep learning acceleration solutions, and at ViXS Systems Inc. as a Senior Research Engineer, where innovative human face detection and scene change analysis were developed. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at Pattern Discovery Technologies Inc. and various research positions at the University of Waterloo, Advanced Technology (BlackBerry), Institute of Acoustics (Chinese Academy of Sciences), and National Space Science Center. Ying holds a PhD in Signal and Image Processing from the University of Waterloo, an M.Sc. from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a BEng from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
