Director, Risk Adjustment Coding Operations at Advantasure

Kristi Reyes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Since 2015, they have been working at Advantasure, where they started as a QA Trainer before progressing to become Manager of Coding Operations. In this role, they acted as a former QA trainer/auditor and also served as the Marketing and Communications Lead for the EMPOWR LGBT+ Employee Resource Network. Kristi then transitioned to become the Director of Risk Adjustment Coding Education & Training before assuming their current position as Director of Risk Adjustment Coding Operations. In these leadership roles, they led a team of coders and implemented strategic initiatives to optimize risk adjustment coding processes.

Prior to joining Advantasure, Kristi worked as a Youth Cheerleading Coach ASEP at Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain from 2008 to 2020. Kristi also gained experience as an on-site HCC/CDI Medical Coder at Healthcare Partners of Nevada, a DaVita Medical Group, from 2014 to 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Query Development Fraud and Abuse Analyst at HealthDataInsights, Inc. from 2012 to 2014. Their earliest work experience was as a COB/TPA/Refund Analyst Medicaid/Medicare at Performance Health Technology from 2001 to 2008.

Kristi Reyes completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management at Western Governors University from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology with a focus on Pre-Professional/Chemistry from Western Oregon University, which they completed between 2003 and 2008.

Additionally, Kristi Reyes has several certifications related to medical coding and auditing. Kristi achieved the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC in September 2013. Kristi also holds the Certified Outpatient Coding (COC) certification, the Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification, and the Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) certification, all received from AAPC between 2014 and 2015.
