Jimmy Chung

Jimmy Chung, MD, MBA, FACS, FABQAURP, CPE, CMRP has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, holding various positions in prestigious organizations. Jimmy is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Advantus Health Partners. In addition, they are a Board Member at the American Association for Physician Leadership®.

Previously, Dr. Chung served on the Washington Medical Commission, holding positions such as Commissioner and Vice Chair. Jimmy also served as Chair of the Commission from July 2022 to July 2023.

Dr. Chung's expertise extends to healthcare resource and materials management, as they held the position of Chair of the Advisory Board at the Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM).

At Providence, Dr. Chung held multiple roles, including Associate Vice President of the Perioperative Portfolio and Senior Director of Perioperative Services. Jimmy was also the Director of Medical Products Analysis and the Medical Director of Supply Chain.

Furthermore, Dr. Chung has contributed to the medical field as a Surgical Expert Consultant and Reviewer for the Medical Board of California. Jimmy also held the position of President at the Santa Cruz County Medical Society.

Jimmy Chung, MD, MBA, FACS, FABQAURP, CPE, CMRP has a diverse education history. Jimmy obtained a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991, followed by an M.D. from UC San Diego School of Medicine in 1995. Jimmy completed a surgery residency at the University of Washington - School of Medicine from 1995 to 2000. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management at the Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst from 2014 to 2017.

Jimmy Chung has also obtained several additional certifications. These include being a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) from the American Association for Physician Leadership in 2023, a Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) from the Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) in July 2020, and holding fellowships in ABQAURP (American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians). Additionally, they have certifications in Health Care Quality Management and Surgery from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
