Jimmy obtained a B.A. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1991, followed by an M.D. from UC San Diego School of Medicine in 1995. Jimmy completed a surgery residency at the University of Washington - School of Medicine from 1995 to 2000. Later, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Health/Health Care Administration/Management at the Isenberg School of Management, UMass Amherst from 2014 to 2017.

Jimmy Chung has also obtained several additional certifications.
