Joel Abramson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in development and philanthropy. Joel is currently the Chief Development Officer at Adventure Science Center since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Nashville Ballet as the Director of Development from 2021 to 2023, where they successfully led a three-million-dollar annual campaign and managed a team for grants, campaigns, donor relationships, events, corporate relations, and database coordination. Before that, they served as a Financial Resource Development Officer at Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee from 2017 to 2020. Joel also held positions at Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, AJC Global, Jewish Federation of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, Vanderbilt Hillel, Temple Ohabai Shalom, Hillel at Virginia Tech, and Hillel at Kent State, where they gained experience in community engagement, young adult coordination, student life coordination, and marketing/communication.
Joel Abramson holds a Master's Degree in MBA Nonprofit Management and MA Jewish Professional Leadership, which they obtained from Brandeis University between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies and Theater Studies, earning two dual BAs, at Kent State University, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, Joel obtained a certification in "Mandated Reporters: Critical Links in Protecting Children in Georgia" from the National Association of Social Work, Georgia Chapter, in January 2017.
