Saleem H. Ali is a distinguished academic and practitioner in the fields of energy, environment, and resource management, currently serving as Lead for Critical Minerals and Inclusive Energy Transitions at the United Nations University - Institute for Environment and Human Security since August 2023. Ali is also a member of the Board of Directors at Adventure Scientists and holds several significant academic roles, including Blue and Gold Distinguished Professor of Energy and the Environment at the University of Delaware, Senior Fellow at Georgetown University, and Honorary Professor at the University of Queensland. With extensive experience in advising global environmental initiatives, Ali has been a Member of the International Resource Panel for the UN Environment Programme and served on the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel for the Global Environment Facility. Ali's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Environmental Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.E.S. in Environmental Law and Policy from Yale University, and a BS in Chemistry from Tufts University, among other qualifications.
