Dominic Nakis

Chief Financial Officer at Advocate Health

Dominic is responsible for the overall financial plans and strategies of Advocate Aurora Health. Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to, oversight of the investment, treasury, revenue cycle, financial reporting, financial planning, decision support, enterprise risk management, and internal audit functions.

He has been a leader at Advocate Aurora Health (and/or its predecessor organization) for more than 30 years. Nakis began his career at the former Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young) in Chicago, Illinois, where he was involved primarily within the firm’s assurance practice.

In 2011, Nakis was recognized as the Chicago CFO of the Year among not-for-profit organizations in the inaugural award program established by the Financial Executives International, Chicago Chapter.

Nakis holds a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business of DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Nakis is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Nakis is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Hospital Association Investment Committee and is involved with the American Heart Association having served as their 2015 Metro Chicago Heart Walk Chair and 2021 Heart of Chicago Board. He has been a past member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s National Principles and Practices Board, the Board of Directors of the Illinois Division of the American Cancer Society and Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Illinois Foundation.
