Gideon Cunningham

Gideon Cunningham is a Senior Researcher at Advocates for Human Potential, Inc., focusing on domestic extremism and cannabis policy since July 2023. Previously, as a Graduate Research Assistant and Policy and Research Intern at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, research areas included the political and social psychology of political violence, political polarization, and security policy concerning terrorism and political violence. Additionally, experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Wright State University involved studying the interaction between federal and state cannabis policies. Gideon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master of Arts in International and Comparative Politics with a focus on Peace and Security Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, all contributing to a robust academic and research background in public policy and political issues.
