Chief Technology Officer at AE Studio

Melanie Plaza has extensive work experience in the technology industry. From May 2016 to the present, they have been working at AE Studio, where they started as a Full Stack Software Engineer & Product Lead, building various projects using technologies such as React Native, Angular, and Python. Melanie later became the Head of Technology and currently holds the position of Chief Technology Officer.

In 2018, Melanie co-founded ELIX, LLC and served as the CTO, developing a crowdfunding and payment platform on the Ethereum blockchain. During their time there, they delivered one of the first cryptocurrency utility apps to the app store and Google Play.

From November 2016 to November 2017, Melanie worked at FAPL / To The Tens as the Lead Developer / CTO, where they developed a mobile app for users to discover fashion brands and make purchases. Melanie also created an admin panel for brands to manage their inventory.

Prior to that, Melanie was a Full Stack Developer at Vyu, Inc. from September 2014 to August 2015, developing apps for users to follow news and videos about their favorite programs.

In addition, Melanie worked as a Web Development Immersive TA at General Assembly from July 2014 to April 2015.

Before entering the tech industry, Melanie co-founded Crunchbutton in May 2011 and served as an Associate Eater, gaining experience in the food delivery sector.

Melanie also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Yale University from September 2011 to June 2012, where they conducted research on the molecular mechanisms behind dystonia and updated databases for integration.

Melanie Plaza's education history begins in 2004 when they attended The Bronx HS of Science, though no degree or field of study is specified. Melanie continued their education at Yale University from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology. In 2010, Melanie also participated in a study abroad program at The School for Field Studies, focusing on Rainforest Management Studies in Australia and New Zealand. Later, in 2016 to 2017, they pursued a Nanodegree in Self Driving Car Engineering from Udacity.
