Jim is an Operating Partner on AEA’s Middle Market Private Equity team. In his role, he is focused on working with portfolio companies to maximize value creation through enhanced growth initiatives, improved operating performance and cross-portfolio best practice development, including advising and managing a range of digital transformation and technology initiatives across the portfolio. Jim currently serves on the board of Hero Digital.
Before joining AEA, Jim was a senior managing director with Accenture where he had a wide range of consulting and leadership roles over the course of his 30+ year career. Most recently, he was responsible for leading Accenture’s Chicago Office. In addition to his geographic leadership responsibilities, Jim was responsible for a wide range of Accenture’s most strategic client relationships, including leading the industry business units for Consumer Goods & Retail as well as Chemicals & Utilities. He brings a wide range of business consulting, commercial transformation, digital enablement and technology strategy experience to AEA.
Outside of AEA, Jim has been an active civic and philanthropic leader in the Chicago community. He is currently a board member of the Chicago Commercial Club and the Executives Club of Chicago. He is very active in with Chicago-based technology incubators including 1871, MHub and P33. In addition, he is a founder of the Chicago Apprentice Network, an organization that seeks to expand meaningful participation of community college students in the workforce. Since its inception in 2017, the network has attracted over 75 companies and created more than 1,500 jobs in and around Chicago. He is also an active supporter of Covenant House Chicago and board chair of their annual sleepout event.
Jim holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and participated in Accenture’s Leadership Development Program at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
