Hugo Basson

Hugo Basson serves as the Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at AECI Limited since May 2024, bringing extensive experience in strategy and line management. Prior to this role, Hugo was the Managing Executive at AECI Specialty Chemicals from July 2020 to May 2024, where leadership development was a key focus. Additionally, Hugo held the position of Managing Director at ChemSystems from February 2016 to July 2020, cultivating strategies and leadership initiatives. Earlier experience includes serving as Executive Director at ImproChem (Pty) Ltd from January 2007 to January 2016, managing daily operations and B2B activities, as well as roles in marketing and sales operations at ImproChem from January 1997 to January 2006. Hugo holds a Master of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa and completed the Global Executive Development Program at GIBS Business School in 2017.
