Darryl Weinert

Darryl Weinert is the Fire & Risk Engineering Practice Leader for Australia and New Zealand at AECOM, a position held since 2008. They began their career in fire safety science and engineering in 1997, after completing a PhD at Victoria University, which included extensive research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the US. Darryl has contributed significantly to the field, earning the Phillip Thomas Medal of Excellence for work presented at the 7th International Symposium on Fire Safety Science and receiving the Emerging Technology award from Engineers Australia in 2005. Their project portfolio spans transportation and building design, including major rail projects and health facilities. Darryl is currently involved in post-graduate supervision, furthering research efforts in fire science and engineering.
