Elle Akerman

Elle Akerman is an incoming Structural Engineer at AECOM, starting in November 2024, with extensive experience in engineering education and internships. Currently serving as a Teaching Assistant for Structural Steel Design and Structural Analysis at the University of Notre Dame, Elle also holds a Bridge Design Intern position at HNTB and is a Sorin Fellow at the Notre Dame de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture. Active in professional organizations, Elle is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and has held leadership roles within the Engineering Leadership Council of Notre Dame, which involves coordinating career networking events for engineering students. Elle has also been involved with the Civil & Environmental Engineering & Earth Sciences department as First-Year President and contributed as an Undergraduate Student Researcher. Elle is pursuing a Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering at the University of Notre Dame after completing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
