Mathew Francis

Mathew Francis is a Senior Principal at AECOM, specializing in resilient infrastructure and tunneling, with extensive experience in program management, resilience and sustainability planning, and lifeline infrastructure. With a background in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, Mathew has contributed significantly to various committees within the American Society of Civil Engineers, serving in roles such as Chair of the Critical Facilities Subcommittee and participation in seismic and tsunami load committees. Past positions include Program Manager at URS Corporation, focusing on all-hazards studies for FEMA, and experience in geoengineering and geotechnical projects dating back to the early 1990s. Mathew holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University and an EERI NEHRP Fellowship in Ocean Engineering Tsunami Studies from Oregon State University.
