Borja Borrero

Borja Borrero is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the insurance and bancassurance sectors. Currently serving as the Director General of Aegon España & Portugal since October 2013, Borrero manages Aegon's bancassurance joint ventures in the region, overseeing a top-line P&L responsibility of approximately €500M. Borrero has held various leadership roles, including Head of Business Development and Member of the Executive Committee, and has played a crucial role in establishing significant joint ventures, including Aegon Santander Portugal. In addition to directorships at several insurance companies, Borrero has investment experience as an angel investor and advisory board member at CoverWallet. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, specializing in strategic engagements across multiple sectors. Borrero holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and multiple degrees in engineering.
