Emily Young has held various roles in the financial industry. Emily started their career as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG from 2000 to 2004. Emily then worked as a Senior Regulatory Risk Analyst at Bailie Gifford from 2004 to 2011. Emily went on to become a Regulatory Risk Manager at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership from 2011 to 2014. Emily later joined Aberdeen Asset Management as a Compliance Manager from 2015 to 2016. Emily was a MiFID II Consultant at Alliance Trust Savings & Alliance Trust Investments in 2016. Emily then moved to Aegon, where they held roles as Head of Regulatory Change from 2017 to 2019, Head of 1st Line Controls - Investments from 2019 to 2021, and currently serves as the Head of Business Assurance - Investment Solutions.
Emily Young earned their Chartered Accountant degree in Accounting from ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs between 2000 and 2004. Prior to that, they pursued their MA Hons in Modern History & Spanish at the University of St Andrews from 1995 to 2000, which included an integrated year abroad. Emily completed their Highers from craigholme School between 1982 and 1995.
