Walter Smidts

Walter Smidts currently serves as a Supervisory Board Member at Phinance S.A. since December 2021. In addition, Walter has held the position of Fund Manager for the Aegon Growth Capital Fund and is the Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at Aegon Ltd since February 2016. Prior to this, Walter worked at Rabobank from July 2007 to January 2016, where roles included Business Development and Associate Director for M&A at Rabobank International. Walter's early career included an M&A internship at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in mid-2006 and a Master Thesis Internship at the Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken in 2005. Walter Smidts holds a Master's degree in Finance and Investments from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Master's degree in Business Development from the University of Groningen.
