Franco CIMATTI

Franco Cimatti has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Franco has held various roles in companies such as AEHRA, Norges Skiskytterforbund, Lotus Tech Innovation Centre GmbH, Geely Auto Technical Deutschland GmbH, Group Lotus, Ferrari, Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, FCA - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, KOHLER Engines EMEA, and ACS International Schools.

Their most recent role was as the Chief Engineering Officer at AEHRA, starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Technical consultant at Norges Skiskytterforbund from September 2014.

From October 2021 to February 2023, Cimatti served as the Senior Chief Engineer - Advanced Concepts Engineering at Lotus Tech Innovation Centre GmbH. In this role, they led a specialized business unit and was responsible for the global design and development of innovative modular vehicle architecture concepts and key systems platforms. Franco also managed predevelopment activities for Lotus premium electric vehicle models.

Before that, they held several positions at Ferrari. As the Vehicle Concepts Advanced Research Director from April to December 2018, they were responsible for strategic planning, proof-of-concept engineering, and generating innovations for sustainable and fun-to-drive mobility. Franco also served as the Vehicle Concepts and Predevelopment Director, reporting to the CTO, and contributed to the company's strategic planning. Cimatti began their tenure at Ferrari as the Manager of the Road Testing Department, overseeing all road testing development and production release activities, starting in April 1990.

Their early career includes roles as an Engine Development Engineer at FCA - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles from January to June 1986, an Engine Design and Development Engineer at KOHLER Engines EMEA from September 1983 to May 1984, and a Teacher at ACS International Schools from October 1982 to May 1983.

In addition to their professional experience, Cimatti has also served as a professor at Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, teaching courses on automotive design from February 2016 to June 2018.

Franco CIMATTI's education history began in 1972 when they attended Liceo Scientifico G.B. Grassi in Saronno (VA), Italy. However, no specific degree or field of study is provided for this period. Franco then went on to complete the first two years of high school at The American School Foundation from 1973 to 1975, where they followed a college preparatory curriculum. In 1975, they graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School and obtained a High School Diploma with a focus on a college preparatory curriculum. Following their high school graduation, from 1977 to 1981, Franco CIMATTI attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. In May 1981, they obtained the certification of Engineer In Training from the State of Georgia in the USA. Later, from 1981 to 1982, Franco CIMATTI pursued further education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree with a focus on engineering design and product development.
