Javier Garcia Pereda

Javier Garcia Pereda is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in meteorology and remote sensing, currently serving as a Meteorology/Remote Sensing Senior Researcher at AEMET since 2001. In this role, Javier develops meteorological algorithms for EUMETSAT's NWCSAF, focusing on high-resolution atmospheric winds derived from satellite imagery, and provides support through the NWCSAF Helpdesk. Previously, Javier held positions as a Meteorology Junior Researcher at AEMET, where responsibilities included managing meteorological applications and supporting operational forecasts in the Canary Islands, and as a Computer Programmer at Atos SE and Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where programming was conducted in various languages. Javier holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics with a specialization in Geophysics and Atmospheric Physics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, along with advanced training courses from the World Meteorological Organization.
