Adam McAfee has held various managerial and executive positions throughout their career. Adam served as the Vice President of Finance at Aemetis in 2005. In 2006, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Nevo Energy, Inc., where they were responsible for managing the opportunities associated with building a publicly traded clean energy business. Adam also led strategic initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, controls, accounting, IT, fund raising, forecasting, and the financial team. McAfee started their career at Apple Computer, Inc. in 1994, serving in corporate finance until 2006.

Adam McAfee received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Real Estate from California State University, Fresno, from 1983 to 1988. Adam then pursued an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business from 1993 to 1994. In 1999, they obtained a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification from the Institute of Management Accountants. In 2006, Adam attended Harvard Business School for a course in Private Equity & Venture Capital. Adam furthered their education in 2021 by attending Stanford University's Stanford Law School Directors' College, where they studied Board of Directors Issues such as ESG, Cybersecurity, Compensation, and Proxy Trends.
