Douglas Ferreira

Douglas Ferreira is an experienced engineering leader specializing in Distributed Energy Resource (DER) integration within the Australian energy sector. Currently serving as the DER Integration Engineering Lead at the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) since March 2022, Douglas oversees key initiatives such as the WA DER Roadmap implementation and the solar curtailment scheme, while also contributing to compliance and cyber security efforts related to DER orchestration. Previously, in the role of Head of Business Development at Fohat, Douglas significantly enhanced client acquisition and led the strategy for a new energy trading product, while also managing key stakeholder relationships and conducting feasibility studies for microgrid projects. Douglas's earlier career includes roles at Bosch and Volvo Group, focusing on power systems quality engineering. Douglas holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Industrial Engineering from the Federal University of Technology - Parana.
