José Luis Meler Jordán

Mr Meler trained as an aeronautical engineer and has completed the General Management Programme at IESE Business School.

He joined the Directorate-General for Civil Aviation in 1985 as an official of the Corps of Specialist Aeronautical Technicians, where he started to develop his professional career linked to the development and implantation of the SACTA Automated Air Traffic Control System.

Since joining Aena, in the Air Navigation area, he has occupied different positions of responsibility, managing the development and deployment of ATM systems for the provision of safe, efficient and competitive services.

He was head of the Radar Information Systems and Processes Department within the Automation Division between 1992 and 2008, and head of the Automation Division from 2008 until 2010.

He was appointed East Region Director of ENAIRE in 2011, Network Director in 2012 and became director of People in 2021.
