Natalie O'Connell has a diverse work experience across various sectors. Natalie has worked as a Community Liaison Officer at Aeris Resources Limited, Round Oak Minerals Pty Limited, and as an Executive Assistant at the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority. Natalie also served as the Director of Omeo District Health from 2018 to 2021. Natalie has been involved in community engagement and development through their roles as an Advisory Board Member at the National Recovery and Resilience Agency and as a Victorian Bushfire Appeal Panel Member for the Victorian Government. Additionally, Natalie has contributed their expertise as an Independent Chair of the Nominations and Remuneration Sub-Committee at the Omeo District Hospital and as a Telstra Victorian Regional Advisory Council Committee Member. Natalie started their career as a 5/6 Teacher at Omeo Primary School.

Natalie O'Connell pursued their education from various institutes over the years. In 2000, they completed their Victorian Certificate of Education from Gippsland Grammar. Later, from 2004 to 2006, Natalie attended the University of Melbourne, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science. In 2009, they enrolled in La Trobe University and completed a GradDip in Education P-12. Continuing their educational journey, Natalie attended the Gippsland Community Leadership Program in 2018. Recently, from 2020 to 2022, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Federation University Australia. Additionally, Natalie attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2021 to complete the Company Directors Course.
