Harold Klei, CEM has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Harold began their career in 1987 as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the US Navy, where they served until 1993. Following this, they worked as a Corporate Engineer at Teknor Apex Company from 1993 to 1999.

In 1999, Harold joined Chase Corporation as a Plant Engineer, where they revamped a 2-component laminator and optimized facility energy efficiency. Harold later became an Engineering Manager, responsible for all capital projects across seven production facilities. Harold implemented new automated solvent handling production facilities and became an expert in coating, laminating, and converting processes. After 16 years, Harold left Chase Corporation in 2015.

Harold then joined Aspen Aerogels as a Sr. Process Engineer. Harold designed and operated a Combined Heat and Power System and implemented a strategic energy management program. In 2019, they were promoted to Director of Plant Engineering, overseeing a major modernization project, managing a team of engineers and maintenance staff, and coordinating on-site contractor and service contracts. Harold continues to work at Aspen Aerogels.

In 2023, Harold is scheduled to join AeroShield Materials as a Sr. Process Engineer.

Harold Klei, CEM, earned their Bachelor's degree in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University, graduating in 1987. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers in October 2022. No other education history or certifications have been provided.
