Lai Thach is an experienced professional in the fields of manufacturing and entrepreneurship, currently serving as a Manufacturing Academy Instructor at AJAC since March 2022. Prior to this role, Lai was the Managing Owner of Off Day Beer and Wine from March 2020 to January 2024, transforming a passion for homebrewing into a community hub showcasing craft beers and wines. As a Journeyman Machinist at Cadence Aerospace from October 2011 to December 2019, Lai completed a four-year apprenticeship and received a Journeyman's certificate in Washington. Additionally, Lai served in the Army National Guard as a Vertical Engineer from May 2011 to July 2019, participating in various state missions. Lai holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington Tacoma and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the same institution, expected to complete in 2026.
AJAC | Advanced Manufacturing Apprenticeships
AJAC launched in 2008 with an investment from Washington State to skill-up the aerospace and advanced manufacturing workforce through registered apprenticeship. AJAC developed and implemented 13 high-growth, in-demand apprenticeship occupations to serve a variety of demographics, industries, and companies across the state. AJAC serves approximately 400 apprentices per year at close to 300 companies, partnering with 12 community colleges to ensure that all apprentices are receiving college credits while working towards a journey-level certificate.
