Lucien Volmar (He/Him)

Lucien Volmar worked as a Senior Product Engineer at Aerospike, Inc. starting in March 2014. In this role, they played a crucial part in the development and optimization of the Aerospike in-memory database. Prior to their position at Aerospike, Lucien worked at Yahoo! for several years. From June 2011 to February 2014, they served as a Service Engineering Manager, overseeing a team of service engineers and ensuring high availability of multiple platforms. Additionally, from May 2007 to February 2014, Lucien held the role of Service Engineering Lead and successfully launched m.yahoo.com for high-end devices. Before joining Yahoo!, Lucien worked at McClatchy Interactive (Knight Ridder Digital) as a Technology Operations Engineer from August 1999 to May 2007. Here, they provided technical support, developed system security measures, and programmed using various languages and databases. Lastly, Lucien began their career as a Programmer Analyst and System Administrator at Florida International University from May 1994 to August 1999, where they managed multiple websites and servers and programmed using Visual Basic. Lucien also worked as a Math Tutor/Student Assistant at Miami Dade College from 1992 to 1994.

Lucien Volmar completed their first degree, an Associate of Arts in Engineering, at Miami Dade College from 1992 to 1994. Lucien then pursued further education, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Florida International University between 1994 and 1998.
