Phuc Vinh

Phuc Vinh has over 30 years of work experience in various roles related to release engineering, configuration management, and software development.

Phuc is currently working as a Sr. Release/DevOps Engineer at Aerospike, Inc. since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Sr. Release Engineer at Qualcomm from November 2020 to April 2021.

From 2011 to 2020, Phuc was employed at Oracle, where they held the position of Senior Principal SCM Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for researching and recommending new technologies to improve the quality of the Software Development Lifecycle. Phuc also served as the senior administrator for Perforce DVCS, Perforce Swarm, and Gitfusion, providing support to over 300 users across multiple locations. Additionally, they led the migration from Perforce to Git/Bitbucket and developed and maintained various web UI tools.

Before joining Oracle, Phuc worked at Pillar Data Systems as a Principal Build & Release Engineer and Sr. Perforce Admin from 2006 to 2011. Their responsibilities included daily merge and build of Pillar Axiom Software, source code management using Perforce, and providing support to over 200 Perforce users.

From 2001 to 2006, Phuc held the position of Senior Software Configuration Management Engineer at Sun Microsystems. Phuc also served as a Build and Release Engineer at TollBridge Technologies Inc from 2000 to 2001 and as a Software Configuration Management Engineer at Eletter Inc in 2000.

Prior to that, they worked at Asyst Technologies as a Sr. Software QA & Release Engineer, leading the QA and release efforts for new firmware and software. Phuc was also responsible for developing test plans, scripts, and applications to improve the efficiency and reliability of the QA process.

Phuc started their career at Read-Rite Corporation as an R&D Test Software Engineer from 1991 to 1999, where they evaluated software products, developed GUI applications, and acted as the project's technical contact. Phuc also worked at Microscience Inc as an Electronic Technician from 1990 to 1991, where they were responsible for evaluating and testing disk drive controller boards.

Phuc Vinh completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from San Jose State University, from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their degree, they also obtained several certifications. These include "Cert Prep: Scrum Master", "Cloud Native Development with Node.js, Docker, and Kubernetes", and "Learning Docker". All three certifications were obtained in October 2020 from LinkedIn.
