Americo Melara

Americo Melara is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in leadership roles within the energy sector. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer for AES US Utilities at The AES Corporation since March 2015, Americo has held various positions at the company, including VP of Global Performance & Asset Management and Director of Global Performance and Asset Management. Prior to this, Americo was General Manager at Grupo Roca S.A. de C.V. and at Representaciones Diversas SA de CV. Americo's foundational experience includes roles in operations and performance at the Corporate Office of AES Corporation, as well as a position as Product Manager at SIEMENS, S.A. Academically, Americo holds an MBA/MSEE from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and several certificates from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and INCAE Business School, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership and financial expertise.
