James Zapata is a seasoned researcher in the field of renewable energy, currently contributing to AESA since September 2020, focusing on energy studies related to renewable energies, decarbonization, and energy efficiency. Prior to this role, James served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at LAAS-CNRS, specializing in nano-engineering and the integration of metal-oxide-based nanostructures. James's earlier experience includes roles as a Research Support Technician and a Scholarship holder at the Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia and the Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Research Center, respectively. Additionally, James worked as a Research Assistant in the Nanoionics group, a Teacher of Physics and Mathematics, and a Junior Research Assistant in the Thin Film Research Group. Academically, James holds a Ph.D. from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a Master’s degree from the same institution, and a degree in Physics from Universidad del Valle.
