Derek A. Hawkins serves as Director and Senior Corporate Counsel in IP & Emerging Technology at Salesforce since June 2021 and is currently a 2024 Fellow at the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. In addition, Derek holds mentorship roles in the Techstars Chicago Accelerator AI Program and serves as an advisor at Aesthetic. Derek is also recognized as a Black Venture Institute Fellow and has invested in Streamlytics, a company specializing in ethical data collection. Previously, Derek worked as an Intellectual Property Attorney at Amazon, Corporate Counsel for Trademarks at Harley-Davidson, Founder of Hawkins IP, and General Counsel at MARKABLE. Educational credentials include a J.D. in Intellectual Property Law from Marquette University and an Executive Education Certificate in the Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets from Wharton.
