Ulf Wiger has a long history of work experience. Ulf began their career in 1989 as a Systems Integrator at SPYDR-C4I International, where they designed and integrated systems for Command & Control and disaster response. In 1994, they became the VP Engineering at Telepresence of Alaska, where they developed innovative approaches to information management and acted as an advisor to the UAA Applied Sciences Lab. In 1996, they joined Ericsson AB as a Senior Software Architect. In 2002, they took on the role of Tenor at Operavox, participating in three opera productions. In 2009, they became the Chief Technical Officer at Erlang Solutions Ltd. In 2011, they became a Consultant for Software Development & System Architecture at Wiger Pilotti Unlimited AB, and also became a Co-founder, Developer Advocate, and board member at Feuerlabs. In 2015, they became the Lead Developer for RVI at GENIVI Alliance, and in 2017 they joined æternity as a Core Developer team member.

Ulf Wiger obtained their MSEE Cand. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Systems from KTH Royal Institute of Technology between 1986 and 1992. Prior to that, they attended Fredrika Bremerskolan in Haninge, Sweden and obtained their High School degree in Science (Naturvetenskap) between 1982 and 1985. Additionally, they obtained their DSDM Atern Practitioner certification from the DSDM Consortium in March 2011.
