John Larkin Jackson

John Larkin Jackson is a skilled optical engineer with extensive experience in optical design, systems engineering, and collaboration with manufacturers. Currently serving as Sr. Staff Optical Engineer at AEye, Inc. since July 2018, Jackson leads optical design efforts and works on next-generation products. Previous roles include Optical Engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where advancements in telescopes and spectrometers were made, and Principal Optical Scientist at NATO C3 Agency, providing expertise on optical systems for air defense. Additional experience includes contributions to NASA missions at Micro Craft, Inc., leading contamination effects research at Nichols Research Corporation, and early work as a Student Engineer at the United States Department of Defense.
