CJ Close has over 30 years of work experience in the media industry. From 1989 to 1996, Close held the role of Advertising for Time Inc., responsible for advertising sales across Time Inc. print titles while also incorporating Warner brands where applicable. From 1996 to 2011, Close was the West Coast Director for VOGUE, Glamour, Brides Condé Nast Americas. In 2011, Close became the Western Director for Conde Nast Traveler, responsible for multi platform sales (print, digital and events) in the regions of Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii, and was recognized as the Sales Person of the Year. From 2014 to 2015, Close was the SE Director for Epicurious.com, responsible for client relationships in the South East Region and for display and integrated programs. From 2015 to 2019, Close held the roles of Director of Branded Content Partnerships and Director of Strategic Partnerships for MatadorNetwork.com. Most recently, from 2019 to present, Close has been the Director of International Partnerships and West Coast Director for Afar Media.
CJ Close received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Butler University in 1982, having attended from 1978.
