Andrea Mitchell is the Managing Partner and a founding member of Mitchell Sandler LLC. Andrea is a nationally recognized adviser to banks, financial service companies, and third-party service providers on enforcement and regulatory compliance matters. She represents clients throughout the country on fair lending, fair servicing, and responsible banking issues, including matters that involve disparate impact, disparate treatment, or unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices (UDAAP). Andrea has extensive experience in counseling clients on regulatory compliance, compliance risk management with respect to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Truth in Savings Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA), UDAAP laws and other consumer protection laws. She frequently advises clients on board governance and bank regulatory issues, including supervisory appeals, merger and acquisition strategy, supervisory relations, and examination management. She also assists banks with their transitions into Consumer Financial Protection Bureau jurisdiction upon crossing $10 billion in assets and with applications to change primary bank regulators.
Andrea has conducted enterprise-wide internal investigations and served as lead counsel on dozens of government investigations and enforcement matters. She has extensive experience in cases involving the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Department of Justice, Federal Reserve Board, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Trade Commission, Department of Housing and Urban Development, state attorneys general, and state civil rights commissions.

Andrea holds a J.D. from American University-Washington College of Law, summa cum laude, and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
