Barbara L. Martinez

Barbara L. Martinez, MA, AFC® is an experienced financial counselor and leader, currently serving as a Board Member for the AFCPE®, where contributions focus on governance and strategic direction to advance financial counseling and planning education. As the Manager of Heartland Alliance Asset Building Programs, Barbara oversees initiatives aimed at enhancing financial well-being in low-income communities and implements financial coaching programs for diverse populations. Previous roles include National Education Sales Manager at New Futuro, where strategic partnerships were forged to increase Latino college attainment, and Senior Account Manager at Seedco, focusing on growth and brand awareness for proprietary programs. Barbara holds a Master's degree in Communication and Public Relations and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Northern Iowa.
