Richard Averitte, Jr., M.D. has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Richard is currently serving as an Associate Faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix. Prior to this, they held positions as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Instructor at Midwestern University (AZ) and as a Clinical Assistant Professor at TGen. Richard has also worked as an Associate Clinical Professor at The University of Toledo and founded the Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation and Affiliated Laboratories. Dr. Averitte is the CEO and Managing Partner of Affiliated Dermatology, a position they have held since its founding in 2002. Additionally, they have served on the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants and as a Board Member for Susan G. Komen Arizona. Richard has also worked as the Medical Director for the Phoenix Marathon.
Richard Averitte, Jr., M.D. completed their education in a chronological manner. Richard obtained their High School Diploma from Tallmadge High School in 1983, where they focused on Math, Science, and Music. Following this, from 1983 to 1988, Richard pursued a Bachelor of General Studies degree at Ohio University. Richard'sfield of study during this time was Electrical Engineering/Business.
Richard then attended The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences from 1994 to 1998, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, specializing in Medicine. After completing their medical degree, Richard furthered their expertise by completing a Residency Training Certificate from Case Western Reserve University from 1999 to 2002. During this period, they focused on the Dermatology Residency Program.
