Geoff McMahon joined AEI in 1991 in Seattle and became a principal in 1995. He leads the Seattle office and provides support and leadership to AEI’s five West Coast offices.
Geoff has planned and led many large and complex projects throughout the U.S. and abroad, including research campuses for Amgen in the Northwest, a large oil company in Colorado, and an academic research campus in Saudi Arabia. He has also led large healthcare projects for the British Columbia Health Authority, Peace Health in Oregon, and the NIH in Maryland. He brings a strong understanding of the key issues involved in the master planning and design of these complex and technically driven facilities.
An ardent advocate for the use of sustainable design, Geoff played a leadership role in the execution of largest LEED Platinum research campus in the world — the KAUST campus in Saudi Arabia (over five million square feet). He also played an integral role in the design and deployment of one of the largest applications of chilled beams in the United States.
