Andrew Bird has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Andrew has held positions such as Head of AI at Affinda, where they utilized artificial intelligence technologies to automate document workflows. Andrew also worked as a Full Stack Developer at Effective Altruism Australia, developing the front and back ends of their donation processing system. At Vesparum Capital, they served as a Data and Analytics Manager, overseeing software and data science teams. Andrew's experience also includes roles as a Django/React Developer at Draftable and an Actuarial Consultant at Deloitte Australia. Additionally, they co-authored two books on Python programming while working as an Author at Packt.
Andrew Bird completed their education at the University of Melbourne from 2010 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) (hons) degree in Actuarial Science. Prior to that, they attended Melbourne High School from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as the Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary (CERA) from CERA Global Association and Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA) from Actuaries Institute Australia.
