Sharmen Rajendran has a diverse and extensive work experience. They are currently working at Affinda as the Sales Director - APAC. Prior to this, Sharmen worked at Ecolab as a Senior Account Manager / Sales Accelerator, where they achieved significant revenue growth and signed major contracts. They also held roles as a Primary Trainer and Account Manager at Ecolab, where they excelled in sales and training.

Before Ecolab, Sharmen worked at Waterwerx as a Lead Engineer - Process Innovation and Chemical, Applications and Sales Engineer. They were involved in selling engineering solutions and incorporating cutting-edge technologies into wastewater treatment plants.

Sharmen also has experience in academia, having worked at Monash University as a Teaching Associate, Research Supervisor, Graduate Researcher, and Laboratory Manager. They were involved in teaching, research, and managing laboratory safety.

Additionally, Sharmen worked as a Tutor at the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS), providing one-on-one tutorials to indigenous students. They also gained experience as a Process Engineering Intern at Tatura Milk Industries Limited and as an Adjunct Research Scholar at the Key Laboratory of Energy Thermal Conversion and Control.

Lastly, Sharmen started their career as an Environmental Engineering Intern at GSR Environmental Consultancy Sdn. Bhd., where they focused on environmental impact assessments and solid waste management.

Sharmen Rajendran holds a Ph.D. in Carbon Capture and Storage from Monash University, which was completed from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Sustainability Stream) from the same university, spanning from 2007 to 2011. In addition to their academic achievements, Sharmen has also attained various certifications, including The Versatile Salesperson and Counselor Salesperson from Wilson Learning in 2019, as well as certifications in emergency medical service first response, public safety, and first aid management of anaphylaxis from Parasol in October 2013.
