Previously, Beck was executive vice president and president of Global Integration, overseeing the integration of Nalco following [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s acquisition of the company in 2011. His earlier roles at [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) include executive vice president, Institutional Sector; senior vice president and general manager, Institutional Foodservice – North America; and senior vice president, Corporate Marketing and Strategy.
 
Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2007, Beck was senior executive at [Nestlé](/org/nestle) for 16 years, where he ran several of the company’s major businesses. Earlier in his career, he worked on a space shuttle project for the European Space Agency.
 
In 2006, Beck was nominated as a Young Global Leader of the [World Economic Forum](/org/world-economic-forum) for his accomplishments and commitment to shape a better world.
 
Beck holds a master’s degree in Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and serves on the institution’s strategic advisory board. He also serves on the board of directors for the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation.

Dan Schmechel is chief financial officer and treasurer for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources. 

Previously, Schmechel served as senior vice president of Services and Systems as well as the interim head of [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Global Supply Chain, senior vice president and chief transformation officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, senior vice president and controller, and vice president and treasurer. Schmechel joined [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 1995 as assistant treasurer.  

Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab), Schmechel held various financial positions with Exxon Corporation. He began his career with Amoco Production Company as a petroleum geologist. 

Schmechel serves on the board of directors of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. Previously he served as chair of the Dale Warland Singers, a St. Paul, Minn.-based professional choral group, and chair of the Management Assistance Project for Nonprofits; a provider of management resources and services to nonprofit organizations in Minnesota. Schmechel also chaired the Conference Board Council of Corporate Treasurers.

Daniel J. Schmechel

Bobby Mendez is executive vice president of Growth Initiatives for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

Previously, Mendez served as executive vice president and president of Global Services and Specialty, and Life Sciences. During his more than 30 years with [Ecolab](/org/ecolab), Mendez has held a variety of other leadership positions in International, Institutional, Food & Beverage, Consumer Sales and Janitorial Services divisions. Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab), Mendez was the youngest general manager of a premier hotel resort in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Mendez serves on the board of trustees of the Food Marketing Institute Foundation and the Natural Science Center of Greensboro, and recently served on the board of directors of the United Way of Greater Greensboro.  Mendez is a member and past chairman of the Latin American & Caribbean Leadership Committee and the Latino Professionals Forum.

Timothy Mulhere is executive vice president and president, Global Institutional for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources. 

Previously, Mulhere was executive vice president and president, [Regions](/org/regions).  In this role, he worked to ensure effective local execution of global strategies, high performance of local and regional operations, and continued alignment of the company’s global integration efforts. 

Previously, Mulhere was executive vice president and president of Global Water and Process Services, which operates as Nalco Water. He has also served as executive vice president and president, Global Healthcare and as senior vice president and general manager of Food & Beverage, North America. Mulhere also has held other key executive positions within [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Healthcare and Professional Products businesses.

Prior to [Ecolab](/org/ecolab), Mulhere was vice president and global business manager of Refined Products for [Witco Corporation](/org/witco-corporation). He served on the board of directors of the National Petroleum Refiners Association and Witco BV. During his tenure at Witco, he also held a number of sales and marketing positions for the Refined Products business.

Mulhere currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Chemistry Council (ACC). ACC has been recognized as a leader in creating the most comprehensive shift in energy policy in the last 25 years. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Executives’ Club of Chicago. Founded in 1911, the Club facilitates strategic relationship development, intellectual exchange and development of future leaders. 

Mulhere previously served eight years on the board of governors for the Minneapolis-based Children’s Theatre Company. He also served on the board of directors of University Enterprise Laboratories, Inc., 


Timothy Mulhere

Angela Busch is executive vice president of Corporate Strategy and Business Development for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

In her current role, Busch is responsible for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)'s new business ventures and business development activities as well as the company's merger and acquisition (M&A) initiatives. 

Previously, Busch was senior vice president of corporate development and responsible for acquisitions, divestitures and alliances in support of [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)'s strategic objectives related to its global portfolio of business and activities. 

Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2006, Busch held several positions related to strategy development and acquisition work including most recently managing director of Merger and Acquisitions at [RBC Capital Markets](/org/rbc-capital-markets). She previously held positions in Mergers and Acquisitions and Planning and Business Development at [Honeywell](/org/honeywell) and Land O’Lakes. Her background also includes tenure as a management consultant at [McKinsey & Company](/org/mckinsey-company), where she focused on strategic initiatives for clients in the healthcare industry. Busch began her career as an engineer with ADC Telecommunications.

Anil Arcalgud is executive vice president and chief information officer for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

Previously, Arcalgud led [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Global Business Services function, responsible for its strategy formulation, roadmap planning and execution globally.

Arcalgud joined [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2009 after a 13-year career with [Motorola](/org/motorola), where he served in a number of roles within the company’s finance group. Prior to [Motorola](/org/motorola), Arcalgud worked in public accounting for Price Waterhouse-Coopers and ANC Co. for more than eight years.

Arcalgud holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics from St. Joseph’s College in Bangalore, India. He is a chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

Gergely Sved is the SVP and GM of Global Healthcare at [Ecolab](/org/ecolab). Gergely has been with the company since September 2018 and in their current role, they are responsible for setting the strategic direction for operations, including supply chain, engineering transfers, sourcing, and services. 

Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab), Gergely was the Interim COO at Echosens from September 2018 to January 2019. In this role, they were responsible for setting the strategic direction for operations for a private equity portfolio company. 

Before their role at Echosens, Gergely was the CEO of Europe Services at GE Healthcare from March 2005 to September 2018. In this role, they were responsible for sales and aftermarket services of GE Healthcare's parts business to Powergen and Oil & Gas industries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. 

Prior to their role at GE Healthcare, Gergely was the General Manager of Parts EMEA at GE Power from January 2000 to December 2005. In this role, they were responsible for sales and aftermarket services of GE Energy's parts business to Powergen and Oil & Gas industries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. 

Before joining GE Power, Gergely worked at GE as an Associate / Manager in Corporate Audit from January 1996 to December 2000. In this role, they were responsible for financial and process audits for mergers and acquisitions.

Gergely Sved completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International/Global Studies at the Univerisy of Humberside. Kevin Krumm is the Senior Vice President and Treasurer at [Ecolab](/org/ecolab). Kevin has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, and treasurer roles. 

Kevin started their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate from 1997 to 1999. Kevin then moved to Arthur Andersen/Deloitte as a Manager in their Corporate Finance Group from 1999 to 2004. Kevin then joined [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2004 as their Vice President of Healthcare and was with them until 2008 when they became the CFO of [Minnetronix](/org/minnetronix), Inc. 

In 2009, Kevin left [Minnetronix](/org/minnetronix) to join [UnitedHealth Group](/org/unitedhealth-group) as their Vice President of Long-term care. Kevin was with [UnitedHealth Group](/org/unitedhealth-group) until 2010 when they rejoined [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) as their Senior Vice President of Finance for [Global Business Services](/org/global-business-services). Kris Kielsa is executive vice president and general manager, Institutional North America for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

In this role, Kielsa is responsible for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Institutional business, which provides food safety and cleaning and sanitizing solutions to the foodservice, healthcare, hospitality, lodging, long-term care and commercial building markets.

Previously, Kielsa was the senior vice president and general manager of Global Pest Elimination. Kielsa joined [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2005 as director of marketing in Pest Elimination. Since then he has held positions of increasing responsibility in Marketing, Business Development and Field Sales in both Pest Elimination and Institutional. Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab), Kielsa held marketing leadership positions with Land O’Lakes, ConAgra and Jerome Foods. 

Throughout his career, Kielsa has been an active member of several key industry groups including IFT, NPMA, NRA and other trade associations.  He has also played a key role supporting the efforts of the American Heart Association.  He is also a board member for Bridging, a local non-profit in the greater Twin Cities area.

Mike Duijser is executive vice president and chief supply chain officer for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, food safety and public health technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

In this role, Duijser oversees [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s global supply chain operations, including more than 400 manufacturing plants, warehouses and other supply chain facilities around the world.

Previously, Duijser served as the chief supply chain officer for [Reckitt Benckiser](/org/rb) (RB) Group plc, where he was responsible for its global supply chain operations including procurement, manufacturing and distribution. Prior to this, Duijser served as the vice president of Worldwide Engineering for Amazon. Duijser began his career at Nestlé leading product development, manufacturing and integration initiatives across many businesses and in developing markets.

Duijser has a master’s degree in Physics Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.

Gail Peterson is senior vice president of Global Marketing & Communications for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, food safety and public health technologies and services. In this role, Peterson leads global marketing and oversees the company’s Global Brand, Global Communications, Market Research, Sustainability and Water Partnerships teams.

Previously, Peterson as vice president of Marketing for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Global Healthcare business, where she was responsible for developing and executing market-expanding global strategies and led digital solutions development, marketing communications strategies and execution, corporate account selling support, and clinical evidence planning.

Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2016, Peterson was with General Mills, Inc. for 15 years, where she held a number of roles of increasing importance and helped expand a number of businesses, brands and strategic initiatives.   

Peterson is a member of [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, a founding member of the Black Leaders Forum and serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota Children’s Museum.

Deric Bryant is executive vice president and president of Upstream Energy for Ecolab Inc. In this role, he leads the Nalco Champion upstream business, which supports national oil companies, independents, majors and supermajors on exploration and projection projects throughout the world. 

Bryant has been with the company since 1995 and has held roles in sales, marketing and general management. Most recently, he was executive vice president of the upstream business and previously served as vice president of upstream’s CAPEX and Latin American division. Prior to joining Nalco Champion, Bryant worked in Nalco Water’s Heavy and Light Industry segments.

Chafik Hilal is senior vice president and general manager India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) and Industrial IMEA for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

In this dual role, Hilal has leadership responsibility for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s operations in IMEA and leads [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Industrial business within the region.

Hilal joined [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in January 2018 and in June 2018, assumed the role of vice president and general manager of Nalco Water, an [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) company, in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). In June 2019, Hilal was named vice president and general manager for MEA in addition to leading the Nalco Water business for the region. He was promoted to his current role on December 1, 2019.

Hilal has more than 20 years of global experience in general management, sales, marketing and product/program management. While working for [Rockwell Collins](/org/rockwell-collins), he held several management positions in France, the U.S. and United Arab Emirates, including managing director for Africa, Middle East and Turkey.

Ms. McKibben has been the head of [MAC Energy Advisors](/org/mac-energy-advisors) since its founding in 2010. From September 2007 to August 2009, she served as Managing Director and Head of Environmental Banking Strategy at [Citigroup](/org/citigroup) Global Markets. Prior to joining [Citigroup](/org/citigroup), Ms. McKibben served in the National Security Council at the White House from July 2003 to August 2007 as Director of European Economic Affairs and EU Relations and as Acting Senior Director for European Affairs. Before joining the National Security Council, she served in various senior advisory roles in the [U.S. Department of Commerce](/org/u-s-department-of-commerce) from March 2001 to July 2003.

Tracy B. McKibben

Mr. Larson has been chief investment officer for Mr. Gates and the Business Manager of Cascade Investment, L.L.C. since 1994. He is responsible for Mr. Gates’ non-Microsoft investments as well as the investment assets of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust. Previously, Mr. Larson was at Harris Investment Management, Putnam Management Company and ARCO.

Michael Larson

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of [Cargill](/org/cargill), Incorporated, a privately held company and world-leading producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial, and industrial products and services. Director of [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) since 2015. Vice Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Governance Committee.

Mr. MacLennan has served as Chairman of the Board of [Cargill](/org/cargill) since 2015 and as Chief Executive Officer since 2013. He held the offices of Chief Operating Officer and President from 2011 until his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in 2013. Prior to these roles, Mr. MacLennan held several other positions with [Cargill](/org/cargill), including Chief Financial Officer, President of [Cargill](/org/cargill) Energy and Managing Director of the Value Investment Group. He has also held various management positions with US Bancorp [Piper Jaffray](/org/piper-jaffray) and Goldberg Securities.

Qualifications – With more than 25 years of leadership experience at [Cargill](/org/cargill), Mr. MacLennan has developed significant leadership and strategic planning skills, as well as extensive knowledge and insight in corporate governance, risk management, financial management and global business practices.

David W. MacLennan

President of Kilovolt Consulting, Inc., a cyber security strategy and technology consulting firm. Retired Major General of the [U.S. Air Force](/org/u-s-air-force). Director of [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) since 2014. Member of the Compensation and Finance Committees.

General Vautrinot retired from the Air Force in 2013. During her 31-year career in the Air Force, she served in various assignments, including cyber operations, plans and policy, strategic security and space operations. General Vautrinot commanded at the squadron, group, wing and numbered Air Force levels, as well as the Air Force Recruiting Service. She has served on the Joint Staff, the staffs at major command headquarters and Air Force headquarters. From 2011 to 2013, she was Commander, 24th Air Force and Commander, Air Forces Cyber, where she was responsible for cyber defense operations. Prior to that, General Vautrinot was the Director of Plans and Policy, U.S. Cyber Command and the Special Assistant to the Vice Chief of Staff of the [U.S. Air Force](/org/u-s-air-force). On multiple occasions, she was selected by military leaders and White House officials to spearhead high-profile engagements. General Vautrinot is the recipient of the Symantec Cyber Award, Women in Aerospace Leadership Award, Aerospace Citation of Honor and the Presidential Award for Training. During her career, she has also been awarded numerous medals and commendations, including the Distinguished Service Medal. She was inducted into the National Academy of Engineering in 2017.

Suzanne M. Vautrinot

Greg Cook is senior vice president and president of the Latin America region, and senior vice president and general manager of Institutional Latin America for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

In his current role, Cook has overall leadership responsibility for Latin America, and drives local execution, compliance and functional support for all divisions to enable exceptional business results. He also oversees [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Institutional business in Latin America.

Previously, Cook was senior vice president of Institutional Global Corporate Accounts and responsible for sales execution and alignment of the Corporate Accounts organization. During his 21-year tenure at [Ecolab](/org/ecolab), Cook has held key leadership roles in Finance, Institutional Sales Management, Textile Care, Food & Beverage and Corporate Accounts. He joined the company in 1997 as a senior financial analyst. 

Cook serves on the board of directors of the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA) and the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities.

Cook holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from the [University of Wisconsin](/org/university-of-wisconsin-madison) – Eau Claire. He resides in Woodbury, Minn., with his wife, Kristie and their daughters. 

Greg Cook

Pedro Sancha is senior vice president and general manager of the Global Light division of Nalco Water, an [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) company. [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc. is the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources. 

In his current role, Sancha oversees a billion-dollar plus global division, with more than 3,000 associates, that provides digitally enabled, integrated water management solutions to the food and beverage, manufacturing, transportation and institutional segments.

Sancha joined [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in January 2018 after 15 years with Shell, where he worked across the value chain, including strategy, general management, supply chain, mergers and acquisitions, and business development. He began his career as a business consultant with Arthur Andersen. Sancha has extensive international experience, having lived and worked in Northern Africa, Europe, Asia Pacific and the U.S. 

Sancha served on the board of the European Solvents Industry Group (part of the European Chemical Industry Council) and has volunteered as a mentor with The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women. He is a lead mentor with the Techstars Farm to Fork Accelerator, which helps start-up companies with innovative ideas around the food supply chain.

Sancha has master’s degrees in Engineering from both the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Ecole des Ponts Paristech in France, and a master’s degree in Business Administration from [Harvard Business School](/org/harvard-business-school).

Ms. Ballard retired from [Best Buy](/org/best-buy) in March 2019. During her 25-year career at [Best Buy](/org/best-buy), Ms. Ballard last served as an Advisor at [Best Buy](/org/best-buy) Co., Inc. after transitioning from her position as Senior Executive Vice President and President, Multi-Channel Retail, a position that she held from March 2017 to July 2018, with responsibility for all U.S. [Best Buy](/org/best-buy) stores, e-commerce, customer call centers, [Best Buy](/org/best-buy) Mexico and real estate strategy. Ms. Ballard also held roles as President, U.S. Retail from 2014 to 2017; Chief Human Resources Officer from 2013 to 2016; President – International from 2012 to 2014, with responsibility for business in Canada, China, Europe and Mexico; and President – Americas from 2010 to 2012, with responsibility for business in the U.S. and Mexico.

Shari Ballard

Dr. Larry Berger is executive vice president and chief technical officer for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

Dr. Berger is responsible for leading the global Research, Development & Engineering organization. Combining a deep understanding of customer problems with technology leadership, [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) RD&E takes an innovative systems approach to deliver superior solutions. The technical services team provides training and expertise that ensures [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s customers receive consistent, highly effective results.

Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2008 as senior vice president and chief technical officer, Dr. Berger had a 22-year career at [DuPont](/org/dupont), where he held senior leadership roles in global technology, technical operations, business development and led Corporate new business ventures.  

Dr. Berger received a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Chemistry from State University of New York – Stony Brook and both a master’s and doctorate degree in Materials, Science and Engineering from [Cornell University](/org/cornell-university). 

Larry Berger

Elizabeth (Beth) Simermeyer is executive vice president and president of Healthcare and Life Sciences for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

Simermeyer leads the company’s Healthcare business, which provides a broad portfolio of innovative infection prevention programs to customers in more than 90 countries, as well as [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s Life Sciences business, which provides end-to-end contamination control programs to meet the exacting needs of personal care and pharmaceutical research and manufacturing facilities.

Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2014, Simermeyer held several management positions during her 19 years with S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc., including senior vice president – Home Cleaning, North America; president and general manager of S.C. Johnson and Son, Limited, Canada; and vice president – Marketing, Developing Platform. She also held marketing and product development roles in Africa, Asia and Latin America.   

Previously, Simermeyer served in several marketing roles at the Procter & Gamble Company.

Simermeyer serves on the board of directors of Securian Financial, the Greater Twin Cities United Way and PACER, an organization focused on advocacy and programming for special needs individuals. She also serves on the board of trustees of Groves Academy, Minnesota's only established school for students with learning disabilities and attention disorders. 

Simermeyer holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Political Science from [Bates College](/org/bates-college) in Lewiston, Maine, and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. She also received certification through the Women’s Director Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management.

Michael Johannsen

Michael McCormick is executive vice president, general counsel and secretary for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

Previously, McCormick served as chief compliance officer, associate general counsel and assistant secretary. Prior to that, he spent nine years within [Ecolab](/org/ecolab)’s corporate development team and was responsible for the company’s global business development and acquisition program. 

Before joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 1997, McCormick spent more than five years as an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Chicago, where he represented clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and general corporate matters. 

McCormick holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from [Miami University](/org/miami-university). He earned his law degree with honors at DePaul University College of Law.

Laurie Marsh is executive vice president of Human Resources for [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) Inc., the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

Previously, Marsh served as vice president of Total Rewards and HR Service Delivery & Technology.

Prior to joining [Ecolab](/org/ecolab) in 2011 through a merger with [Nalco Holding Company](/org/nalco-holding-company), Marsh was Nalco’s executive vice president of Human Resources.  During her 20-year career with Nalco, Marsh held several positions within the company’s Human Resources function, including manager of Employee Benefits, director of Workplace Planning and Staffing and Division vice president of Compensation. Marsh also was president of the Nalco Foundation, a role she assumed in 2003 and held until 2012 when the Nalco Foundation was merged with [Ecolab](/org/ecolab). 

Marsh has a bachelor’s of science degree in interior architecture and design from the [University of Wisconsin](/org/university-of-wisconsin-madison).

Prior to joining Assertio Therapeutics in March 2017, Mr. Higgins served as Senior Advisor to Blackstone Healthcare Partners, the dedicated healthcare team of The Blackstone Group from May 2010 to March 2017. He previously served at Bayer HealthCare AG as Chairman of the Board of Management from January 2006 to May 2010 and Chairman of the Executive Committee from July 2004 to May 2010. Prior to that time, Mr. Higgins held the offices of Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of [Enzon Pharmaceuticals](/org/enzon-pharmaceuticals), Inc. from 2001 until 2004.
