Gary Asmus

Gary Asmus has a diverse work experience in the field of data analysis and management. Gary currently serves as the Director of Enterprise Data Enablement at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as the Manager of Enterprise Data Management at the same company from August 2020 to April 2022.

Before joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, Asmus was the President and Chief Data Scientist at Asmus Research and Consulting, LLC from January 2014 to August 2020. During this time, they conducted various studies and analyses related to education and learning objectives, including a longitudinal study of LA 4 participants and an analysis of ACT test scores.

Gary started their career as the MIS Director at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette from August 2004 to January 2014.

Gary Asmus received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from Louisiana State University in 1992. Gary then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the same university in 1998. Prior to attending Louisiana State University, they pursued studies in Chemistry at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1982 to 1986.
