Lou Patalano

Lou Patalano has extensive experience in the legal field. Lou is currently serving as the Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice President & Corporate Secretary at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, where they lead the company's legal, compliance, ethics, audit, and government affairs functions. Prior to this, they worked at K&L Gates as Of Counsel, specializing in healthcare and FDA law. Lou also held the position of Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Vice President & Corporate Secretary at Sentara Healthcare, where they led the legal, privacy, compliance, and risk management functions. Lou Patalano has held various legal roles at BCBSNC and Cape Fear Valley Health System, as well as positions at Fayetteville State University, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, N.C. Attorney General's Office, U.S. Attorney's Office, and Chief Judge Sidney Eagles, North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Lou Patalano attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science. Later, from 1997 to 2000, they pursued their JD at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, specializing in Law with a Health Care Law Certification.
