Emma Cullen

Emma Cullen has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources and administration. Emma currently holds the position of Assistant Director of Human Resources at AFL-CIO, starting in May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Human Resources Project Manager at AFL-CIO from May 2022 to May 2023. Before joining AFL-CIO, Emma worked as a Human Resources Manager at Horizon House (CCRC) from October 2021 to March 2022. Emma also worked for Amazon as a Disability and Leave Services Case Manager from September 2020 to June 2021. In addition, Emma served as the Western Regional HR Manager at AFT from May 2013 to September 2019. Emma gained experience in payroll and business tax management as a Payroll & Business Tax Specialist at Nordberg Cash & Associates PS from November 2012 to May 2013. Emma also worked as a Business Administrator/Bookkeeper at The Cosmospolitan Group from May 2011 to August 2012. Emma started their career as an Accounts Payable Specialist at the Center for Infectious Disease Research from January 2011 to April 2011.

Emma Cullen completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French from Seattle University between 2002 and 2006. In 2017, they enrolled at North Seattle College but did not obtain a degree, focusing instead on studying Accounting. In 2022, Emma obtained a Certificate in Human Resources Management from the University of Washington. Additionally, in June 2019, they obtained the SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM.
