Matthew D. Owenby is the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Aflac. Matthew has over twenty years of experience in human resources and has held executive positions at Bank of America and GE. Matthew began their career in human resources at Granite Services, Inc.

Owenby has a proven track record in developing and executing strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent. Matthew is certified as a Global Talent Management Fellow from The Wharton School, a Personal Protection Specialist (EPI, PPS) from UNLV School of Medicine, and a Black Belt Certification (BB) from GE Power. Matthew is also certified by SHRM as an SHRM-SCP and by the HR Certification Institute - HRCI as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
