Carlos Ortiz is an experienced food scientist with a strong background in food formulation and product development. Currently serving as a Group Lead and previously as a Food Scientist II at AFP Advanced Food Products LLC since February 2019, Carlos has extensive experience in the food industry, including roles at Riviana Foods and New World Pasta, where responsibilities included product launch, quality design improvement, and corrective actions for pasta products. Prior experience includes working as a S&R Scientist at The Hershey's Company and as a laboratory instructor and research assistant at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, where Carlos focused on product formulation and development. Carlos holds a Master's degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Universidad Metropolitana de Puerto Rico.
