Ag. Lead Local Manufacturing Of Health Commodities Africa CDC at Africa CDC

Abebe Genetu Bayih serves as the Ag. Lead for Local Manufacturing of Health Commodities at Africa CDC and previously held the position of CEPI Africa Engagement Lead at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations. Abebe has significant experience in leadership roles, including Director General at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Chief Director for Research, Technology Transfer and Community Engagement at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Gondar. Abebe's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Calgary and a Master’s Degree in Microbiology from Addis Ababa University. Prior academic experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Calgary.
