Ziyanda Mpakama

Ziyanda Mpakama has a diverse work experience in the finance and energy sectors. Ziyanda is currently working as an Associate Vice President of Business Development at Africa Finance Corporation. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Specialist in Water Infrastructure at the Industrial Development Corporation. Ziyanda also worked as a Programme Manager at SIWI - Stockholm International Water Institute. Ziyanda Mpakama co-founded Kani Development Solutions, a company focused on sustainable energy solutions in Africa, where they served as the Co-Founder and Commercial Director. Ziyanda has also held roles as a Commercial Manager at E.ON Energy Southern Africa, Head of Finance at Enel Green Power, and an Investment Associate at the Public Investment Corporation handling environmental sustainability and economic infrastructure projects.

Ziyanda Mpakama began their education at the University of Fort Hare from 2003 to 2006, where they completed a Bachelor of Commerce with a focus on Economics and Management. Ziyanda then pursued their studies at the University of South Africa from 2010 to 2012, earning a BCom Honours in Finance. From 2013 to 2015, Ziyanda attended the Stellenbosch Business School, obtaining a Master's Degree in Development Finance. Currently, from 2021 to 2023, they are enrolled at SOAS University of London, working towards a Master of Science in Climate Change & Development.
